Kunming Engineering & Research Institute of Nonferrous Metallurgy Co., Ltd. (KERI) was founded in 1953, formerly the design company of the Southwest Branch of the China Central Nonferrous Industry Bureau, successively under the Ministry of Heavy Industry, the Ministry of Metallurgical Industry, China Nonferrous Industry Corporation, China Copper Lead Zinc Corporation, etc., and now belongs to China Aluminum International Engineering Corporation Limited. KERI currently has more than 800 employees.
