Metallurgy and Chemical Engineering Design Department is the leading professional department of KERI. The department has the ability of comprehensive design and engineering consulting in fields of non-ferrous metals, ferrous metals, chemical, gas, medicine, building materials, processing and other industries, with five specialties which include metallurgical technology, chemical technology, dust collection, equipment, metallurgical furnace.

As the economic society is developing rapidly, the business scope is expanded rapidly, from traditional metallurgy and chemical industry, to the comprehensive resources use, energy conservation and consumption reduction, environmental protection, development of new process, equipment and materials, etc., and we have won over 100 prizes for excellent consulting and design results of all levels, published over 300 papers, applied for over 30 patents, completed nearly 10 EPC projects, and accomplished engineering construction investment for over 50 bn yuan accumulatively. The company gets over 20 patents authorized by the state, and therefore played a key role in technological progress for the company.
